How we handle your data

Last updated: July 2026
This is a plain-language summary written for our early waitlist. It's a genuine, good-faith description of what we do — but it's not a substitute for formal legal advice, and we'll have this properly reviewed by a solicitor before full launch.

Who we are

The Secondary Source is a marketplace connecting art buyers and sellers, currently in pre-launch. This policy covers the waitlist sign-up page only — a fuller policy will cover the full marketplace once it's live.

What we collect

We don't ask for anything beyond this at the waitlist stage — no payment details, no address, no ID.

Why we collect it

We only use your information for these purposes — we don't sell or rent your data to third parties, and we won't use it for anything you haven't agreed to.

Where it's stored

Waitlist submissions are currently processed through Formspree, our form provider. Formspree states that it is GDPR compliant and offers a Data Processing Agreement to businesses that need one — we remain responsible for how your data is used, regardless of which tool processes it.

Once our full platform is live, your information will move to our own systems, and this policy will be updated to reflect that.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us at any time to:

Just email us (below) and we'll action it within a month, as required by law.

Cookies & tracking

This waitlist page doesn't use tracking or analytics cookies. Your referral link works by reading a code from the page's web address (URL) — nothing is tracked or stored in your browser.
